Senior Data Engineer
Overview
We are seeking a Senior Data Engineer located in San Diego, California, to help design, build, and scale advanced data solutions. This role plays a key part in improving outcomes for patients with a range of health conditions, through enabling innovative scientific research.
Role Responsibilities
In this position, you will be responsible for creating and enhancing data pipelines, designing efficient API integrations, and developing scalable data models to meet evolving data demands.
Qualifications
Required:
- 4–6+ years of professional experience using Python for data processing and management
- At least 4 years of hands-on experience with data warehouse architectures and design
- Strong problem-solving abilities with a high level of precision and attention to detail
- Solid experience with SQL and/or PostgreSQL
- Practical experience building and integrating RESTful APIs
- Ability to work autonomously while collaborating effectively across teams
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
Preferred:
- Working knowledge of JavaScript and modern frontend or backend frameworks
- Experience with cloud infrastructure, especially AWS
- Familiarity with Snowflake or comparable data warehousing technologies
- Understanding of software engineering best practices, including CI/CD, containerization, and tools such as Docker and Kubernetes
- Prior experience in the life sciences or biopharmaceutical sector
