Role Information

Reporting to the Hospital Director, you will oversee the day-to-day running of the Hospital to ensure the highest standards of clinical care.

Be part of the Senior Management Team developing and managing the mental health pathway services in the hospital and in the community.

Develop positive working relationships with all members of the MDT and Business Development manager.

With the Senior management Team, lead continuous improvement whilst ensuring adherence & compliance with statutory regulations and current legislation, meeting quality and safety standards and delivering against key performance indicators.

Develop, drive and implement clinical assurance initiatives including patient safety, incident management, clinical audit, clinical governance and action plan implementation and monitoring and helping to achieve real change in the quality of care throughout our mental health pathway services in the hospital and community.

Maximise the potential of MDT staff, contributing to the development and enhancement of nursing services at site.

Utilise non – medical prescribing with the Medical Team.

Be motivated to work in an organisation that promotes and embeds recovery, involvement and empowerment for service users.

You will take responsibility for the day to day overview and management of the clinical service; ensuring delivery of an optimum level of clinical and therapeutic care and consistency in compliance with statutory regulations, quality standards and KPIs. You would provide leadership and direction for contemporary initiatives to drive and embed effective clinical practice.

  • Deputise for the Hospital Director including as the Caldicott Guardian,
  • Undertake duties as the Prevent Lead, CD Accountable Officer and Safeguarding Lead of the Hospital
  • To ensure the delivery of an excellent service for service users, families, carers, commissioners, external agencies and partners. Experience, knowledge and skills:
  • NMC Registered with current PIN: Mental Health Nurse
  • Non – medical independent and supplementary prescriber qualification
  • Proven team management capability.
  • A visible and “hands on” manager, motivated with a strong “can do” attitude
  • Ability to maximise potential within self and others.
  • Clinical knowledge and quality standards to support and develop the services offered.
  • Excellent organisation and planning skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and effective communication skills at all levels, both verbal and written and including presentation skills – listening, understanding and responding appropriately to identify key facts.
  • Team player – though capable of working autonomously, using their own initiative.
  • A role model & mentor to other staff – providing advice and support to promote good practice
  • Flexible and adaptable, able to work in hospital and community settings, utilising non – medical prescribing as required

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: £55,000.00-£60,000.00 per year
